SPG Doubles Operational Space With New 240,000 Sq. Ft. Expansion

Superior Pack Group (SPG) announces a massive expansion with the addition of a newly-built 240,000 square foot state-of-the-art facility, representing the largest infrastructure investment in the company’s 30-year history. The expansion is a direct response to soaring demand that has pushed SPG’s existing facilities to capacity, with current operations processing 300 million packages monthly and handling 50 trailer loads daily.

The fully temperature-controlled facility, strategically positioned adjacent to Interstate 84 near Middletown, NY, more than doubles SPG’s operational footprint. The scale is significant: 32 loading docks, in addition to the 20 docks at current locations. Enclosed private property spanning 240,000 sq. ft., and infrastructure built to accommodate 500 employees working simultaneously around the clock.

“Demand has been extraordinary,” says Joel Hirsch, CEO at SPG. “We’re moving 300 million packages a month, 50 trailer loads a day, and we’ve hit our limits. Our clients, including Fortune 500 companies and emerging brands, are growing fast, and they need a partner who can scale with them. This facility is our answer to that demand.”

The numbers tell the story: SPG will now operate nearly 400,000 Square feet of dedicated co-packing and warehousing space across multiple facilities. The Interstate 84 location alone provides a huge boost to distribution capacity, with direct highway access to Northeast markets and efficient routes nationwide. This expansion means SPG can now take on contracts that would have required turning clients away just months ago.

The move reinforces SPG’s leadership position in co-packing. Unlike co-manufacturers, which produce products from raw ingredients, co-packing allows brands to maintain control of manufacturing while outsourcing packaging and logistics. SPG manages everything, receiving finished products, packaging them to exact specifications, and delivering them shelf-ready and on schedule to any retailer.

“Our clients land big retail contracts, and they need someone who can deliver at scale,” Hirsch adds. “We provide the capacity, the expertise, and the custom engineering, whether that’s handling sticky products that jam standard equipment or maintaining nut-free facilities for school programs. This expansion means we can say yes to bigger opportunities.”

With eight safety and compliance certifications, R&D capabilities, and lab testing, SPG’s huge expansion positions the company for its next phase of growth.
